The Wolf and the Lamb - St. Ninian and the Candida Casa
St. Ninian helped to plant a small Christian community at Whithorn in the 6th century. Their church was called the Candida Casa - the White House. It was said to shine in the sun after the rain. Ninian's community was a pure light shining in a pagan land.
The Christian Presence at Whithorn brought worship, learning, healing and peace to the people of Galloway for a thousand years.
As Scotland moves into a new pagan era many are looking to the early Scottish church for encouragement and inspiration.
Our morning conference will present a short account of Ninian and the community at Whithorn and consider how their mission might inspire our mission today.
Our small groups provide time for sharing and learning together through the teachings and promises of the Lord Jesus.
There will be a buffet lunch afterwards for anyone who wishes to stay.
